5 impressive steel construction projects in Vietnam

Steel is one of the most important materials in construction. Since its application in this industry, there have been thousands of steel buildings constructed and in use. Some of them are significant and impressive. With its limitation, this writing shall list five amazing steel structure projects in Vietnam.

1. IMG Phuoc Dong Industrial Park and Port

Area: 129 hectares

Owner: IMG Phuoc Dong Joint Stock Company

Location: Long An, Vietnam

IMG Phuoc Dong Industrial Park and Port can be considered one of the most impressive steel structures in Vietnam with an area of around 129 hectares. The construction consists of a giant traffic system and campus and a number of ready-built factories for lease, warehouses, and so on with spaces in different scales.

This construction is owned by IMG Phuoc Dong Joint Stock Company which works in a wide range of industries, from real estate to technology, especially warehouse, and logistics. 

Located in Long An and connected to different ports such as Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Long An International Port, Cat Lai Port, and Cai Mep Port, IMG Phuoc Dong has a great opportunity to develop the logistics industry and offer customers great services. Many of IMG Phuoc Dong's buildings are pre-engineered steel structures, some of which are contracted by BMB Steel. In March 2023, BMB Steel completed 2 pre-engineered steel factories with a total area of around 40,000 m2.  

2. Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Production Complex

Area: 279 hectares

Owner: Hoa Phat Corporation

Location: Quang Ngai, Vietnam

Hoa Phat Dung Quat iron and steel production complex is considered a super project because of its large scale as well as expected production capacity. 

The project is owned by Hoa Phat Corporation, which is the leading company in the steel production industry of Vietnam with cutting-edge technology.  Hoa Phat considers this a strategic project and believes that it will contribute significantly to the development and position of the company in the industry.

The construction was approved in 2021 and will be finished in 2024. With an estimated area of ​​279 hectares in Binh Dong Commune and Binh Thuan commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai, the project costs around 85,000 billion dong and is expected to produce an amount of 5.6 million tons of material per year.

3. ICD Song Than

Area: 387.870 m2

Owner: Song Than ICD LLC

Location: Binh Duong, Vietnam

The next outstanding steel construction project on the list is Song Than Inland Container Depot project (ICDST). This complex was constructed with the aim to provide customers with excellent inland services such as warehouses, cargo handling, containers and transportation, value-added service, and so on. Established in September 2018, it is now one of the largest ICDs in South Vietnam.

ICDST is owned by Song Than ICD LLC,  a member of Saigon Newport Corporation which provides a variety of logistics services. 

ICD Song Than is located in the center of the Binh Duong industrial zone, playing an important role in providing industrial companies with essential services, which facilitate transportation and trading processes. 

4. GPPD Energy Factory

Area: 30,000m2

Owner: GDDP Energy Company Limited

Location: Binh Phuoc, Vietnam

Another steel construction project is the GDDP energy factory, which is contracted by WorldSteel Group, a reputable company in the steel production industry. This is the first factory in Vietnam to specialize in manufacturing mercury-free alkaline manganese zinc batteries which is a green and advanced technology. 

The factory project is owned by GDDP Energy Company Limited, a Vietnam member of Ningbo Battery company limited, a company with 60-year experience in manufacturing alkaline batteries.

Located in Becamex Binh Duong industrial zone, the GDDP factory has a total area of 30,000 m2, including an office building, 3 large factories, and warehouses. It is expected to have a production capacity of 936,000,000 products per year.

5. Louvre Fabric Production Factory

Area: 331,000m2

Owner: Louvre Textile Company Limited 

Location: Tay Ninh, Vietnam

The Louvre fabric factory is the final project to be listed in this article. It was established in 2022 with a total area of more than 330,000 m2, including a wide campus and several factories each responsible for particular tasks. ATAD, a reputable steel manufacturer, was reported to be responsible for constructing a pre-engineered steel factory with a total area of 76,000 m2.

The project is owned by Louvre textile company limited which specialize in producing textile, garment, and so on. It is expected to offer great job opportunities for the people living in Tay Ninh province and surrounding areas when finished.
